AGBIS Seminar: 10th April 2018

Governors are invited to attend a seminar which is being hosted by AGBIS on Tuesday 10th April in London.   Governors have an important role in the inspection process and this seminar sets out to demystify it.

Where: Royal Overseas League, London SW1

When: Tuesday 10 April 2018, 10am to 4pm

In the morning session, Richard Harman, AGBIS General Secretary, will talk about governors overarching responsibilities and Dr Pamela Edmonds, Head of St Cedd’s School, will explain how Governors need to support the Head in the lead up to an inspection.

The morning will conclude with discussion groups, where delegates will have the opportunity to consider the topics related to governors’ roles in the inspection process.

During the afternoon, Durell Barnes, Head of Governance and Compliance at RSAcademics and former Deputy Director of ISI, will run a workshop providing key information about how the inspection regime has arisen and what happens on inspection.

There will also be the opportunity to discuss how best to showcase the work of governors and how their work impacts on outcomes for pupils, as required by the inspection framework.

The day will end with a Q&A, providing delegates with an opportunity to seek answers or clarification on any issues raised during the day. Governors will leave the seminar equipped with practical tips as well as food for thought.
