Alderley Edge, Truro and The Yehudi Menuhin Schools announce new heads

Claire Oulton and the Appointments Team extend their warm congratulations to candidates who have been successfully been appointed to the following posts:


Headmistress of Alderley Edge School for Girls

Nicola Smillie will be taking up the post of Headmistress at the School in September 2020.  Nicola will be the fourth Head to lead the School in its 21-year history since the amalgamation of St Hilary’s and Mount Carmel schools in 1999.

Head of Truro School 

Andrew Johnson, joins Truro School from St Dunstan’s College, in south-east London, where he has been Deputy Head (Academic) since 2015.  Andrew will take up the post in September 2020.

Head of The Yehudi Menuhin School

Ben Gudgeon has been appointed Head of The Yehudi Menuhin School and will take up the post in April 2020, succeeding Richard Tanner who retires as Interim Head.  Ben is currently Senior Deputy Head (Pastoral) at Sherborne Girls, a full-boarding school in Dorset.
