RSAcademics supports ‘The Impact of Independent Schools on the UK Economy’

Independent schools contribute £73 billion to the UK, reveals a new report produced for the Independent Schools Council and supported by RSAcademics.

This report from 2018, highlights the huge impact of the independent school sector on the UK economy.

In the report entitled ‘The Impact of Independent Schools on the UK Economy’, a team of analysts at Oxford Economics also established that, in 2017 alone, independent schools (including those not within Independent Schools Council membership) contributed £13.7 billion to the economy, generating £4.1 billion of annual tax revenues and supporting 303,000 jobs, which is more than the total number of jobs across Liverpool.

Russell Speirs, CEO and Founder of RSAcademics, said: “My colleagues and I at RSAcademics are proud to be supporting this important piece of research.  All good schools make a positive contribution to British society and this impact study helps us quantify the contribution made by independent schools and challenge some of the negative prejudice out there.”

“The analysis, honestly and positively, shared our shortcomings and then, with warmth and understanding, suggested steps forward. We would certainly work with RSAcademics in the future and can recommend them without hesitation.”
