This is a unique opportunity to join this progressive and influential educational charity which educates over 10,000 students in Birmingham.
Start date – September 2022
The mission of the King Edward’s Foundation is simple: to make Birmingham the best place to be educated in the UK. Within its organisation there are currently twelve schools, educating over 10,000 students: two independent schools and six grammar school academies that are amongst the best in the country and four non-selective comprehensive academies, all of whom have added a different dimension to the Foundation and serve their local communities. Each contribute to excellence in education and, as a group, offer opportunities to the diversity of Birmingham’s communities.
As a result of the Foundation’s ongoing expansion and future plans for growth, we now seek a Director of Education to accelerate its strategies for school improvement and educational performance and development of all schools across the Academy Trust and wider Foundation.
You will be a key member of the Executive and will assume responsibility for a critical portfolio of deliverables, most notably developing our capacity, credibility and culture for successful school improvement. In addition to relevant qualifications and demonstrable senior-level experience, you will have a broad ranging knowledge and deep understanding of the MAT environment, including emerging issues, thinking and trends. Crucially, the ability to lead, whilst also working collegiately with leaders and building strong networks and partnerships, is essential. Finally, you will also need the energy, strength of purpose and resilience to drive forward change.
With a new Chief Executive Officer and ambitious Foundation Strategy now firmly in place, this is an exciting time to join the organisation and make a considerable contribution to the educational life of the city of Birmingham and of our country.
