Founded in 1642, New Hall School is a thriving co-educational boarding and day school for up to 1,500 students aged 1 to 18 and is the largest Catholic boarding and day school in the UK.
Salary: In the region of £80,000-£90,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
Located just outside Chelmsford city centre and well connected to London, it is set in 70 acres of stunning parkland and heritage gardens, dominated by the former Tudor Palace of Beaulieu.
Pioneering since its foundation, New Hall has continued to innovate under the dynamic leadership of the Principal, Mrs Katherine Jeffrey – establishing the New Hall Multi Academy Trust (NHMAT) and becoming sponsor of nearby Messing Primary School in 2012; and acquiring an additional 70-acre site in 2023.
Building on these strong foundations, New Hall School is now looking ahead to a period of growth and development and is seeking to appoint its first Director of Communications, Marketing & Admissions.
This is a pivotal new leadership role on the Executive Team, reporting directly to the Principal. It will be suited to a senior marketing and communications professional, excited by the opportunity to help shape a new vision and ambitious strategy for this highly successful school.
As an ambassador for New Hall, the Director will deputise for the Principal at external events and will bring energy and flair to enhance the School’s profile locally, nationally and internationally, increasing student applications in new markets.
The ideal candidate will bring a demonstrable track record in strategic marketing, communications and brand management gained from within or outside education and will have an instinctive appreciation of the independent schools’ sector, as well as New Hall’s Catholic ethos and local community roots.
