Director of Marketing and Communications – Tonbridge School

Kent

Tonbridge is one of the leading boys’ boarding and day schools in the UK and is renowned, nationally and internationally, for its innovative and world-class education.

Home to around 800 boys, Tonbridge is located approximately 40 minutes by train from central London and enjoys superb facilities on a 150-acre site.

The School provides a caring and enlightened environment in which the talents of each individual flourish, encouraging boys to be creative, tolerant and to strive for academic, sporting and cultural excellence. GCSE and A Level results are consistently excellent, and the School was ranked sixth overall in the 2024 Sunday Times’ Parent Power Schools’ Guide, and the country’s top-performing boys’ boarding school. Tonbridge merged with The New Beacon Preparatory School (TNB) in 2021 – in combination, the two schools provide an educational pathway for boys from 3 to 18.

Reporting to the Deputy Head Admissions and Communications and working closely with the Headmaster and the Senior Team, this newly created position is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding and experienced MarComs professional to provide strategic direction and inspired leadership for the School’s marketing and communication activities.

Responsible for the development of innovative marketing, communications, public relations and pupil recruitment strategies for both Tonbridge and TNB, the ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record in strategic and ‘hands-on’ marketing, communications and brand management gained from within or outside the education sector. They will also have good knowledge of (or inherent feel for) the independent educational landscape and the factors which drive parents to invest in an independent education for their sons.
