The Governing Body of Bishop’s Stortford College is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual who will take the Prep School forward into the College’s next exciting chapter, building on the very successful tenure of Bill Toleman.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in junior/ primary leadership, a proven track record of delivering strong academic and pastoral excellence, a passion for education and a commitment to a genuinely holistic education within a day and boarding school environment. In a competitive environment for independent education, the appointee must have the ability to inspire and motivate staff and pupils, winning the trust and confidence of all the stakeholders.
The College is ideally located close to the centre of Bishop’s Stortford a historic market town in Hertfordshire, 27 miles north of central London. Yet despite its central location it occupies a tranquil, spacious site of over 100 acres of land, blending stunning original Arts & Crafts architecture with creative, innovative, modern learning and recreational spaces.
This is a tremendous opportunity for a collaborative and dynamic leader who wants to be part of a team that drives the vision forward, who will work closely with other leaders across the college, ensuring a seamless learning and developmental journey for all pupils. The Governors are, therefore, looking for a Head of Prep School who has the ambition and talent not only to sustain the excellent progress made in recent years, but also someone who will share their vision for the future and have the ability, experience and collaborative leadership style to deliver further development of the College.
Interested candidates are invited to contact RSAcademics to arrange an informal and confidential discussion about the role:
