Head – Maidwell Hall School

From September 2022 – Maidwell Hall is an IAPS, Co-Ed Day and Boarding Prep and Pre-Prep School, with 130 pupils aged 4–13.

Maidwell Hall is a jewel among prep schools. It has retained all of the best features of boarding: a constantly busy week, a manageable size so that pupils of all ages get to know each other, the opportunity to take part in all manner of co-curricular activities, an enviable academic record, with a bedrock of Christian values and the promotion of good manners and polite citizenship.

The 17th century turreted Hall stands in 230 acres of glorious Northamptonshire countryside complete with lake, a ‘wilderness’ and a small golf course – climbing trees is definitely encouraged.

The Governors are looking for a dynamic, imaginative, energetic and forward-looking Head who will build upon the considerable legacy of Mr Robert Lankester who is retiring in 2022 after 21 distinguished years of guiding Maidwell Hall.

The successful candidate will be prepared to roll up his/her sleeves, to be firm in direction but sensitive to the Maidwell ethos, to be a leader with business acumen and stamina. He or she will be a strategic thinker with the ability to inspire and enthuse, as well as having a deep affinity with what children of this age require in order to move on to their chosen schools as confident, happy and well-grounded individuals. He/she must have a demonstrable sense of humour and an ability to make tough decisions when necessary.

Interested candidates are invited to contact RSAcademics by email, to arrange a confidential discussion with Louisa Barham, the Search Consultant handling this appointment, or Angela Short, Head of Search.
