The Governors of Maltman’s Green Preparatory School are seeking to appoint a Head to succeed Mrs Jill Walker, on her retirement.

Start date – April or September 2026

Maltman’s Green is a thriving Independent Preparatory School, renowned for its high academic achievement with a proud legacy of pushing the boundaries of female education. The School provides a nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to face challenges and take risks, developing resilience and confidence to prepare them well for the challenges ahead.

The Governors are enormously grateful to Mrs Jill Walker who has led the School so successfully. They are now looking to appoint a forward-thinking, innovative and visionary Head to succeed her on her retirement at the end of the Spring Term 2026. They are seeking someone with a proven background of leadership and senior management, who will underpin the Maltman’s Green’s guiding principle that “Better Never Ends”.

The Governors will be looking for an energetic, eloquent, and empathetic leader who relishes the interface with parents. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, passionate about teaching and learning, and particularly committed to providing excellent education for girls. The School takes great pride in offering pupils a broad and enriching curriculum, delivered with a steadfast commitment to excellence. Children are exceptionally well prepared for transfer to Buckinghamshire grammar schools, as well as prestigious independent day and boarding schools, so an understanding of the complexities of senior school transfer in this area will be paramount.

The new Head will join a strong, established school with exciting opportunities to consolidate its current provision and extend its reach in the current market.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive remuneration package with a salary commensurate with the seniority of the post and the experience of the successful candidate. Private medical insurance and fee remission for the Head’s children is offered (subject to suitable places being available in the School).

A three-bedroom house in the grounds of the School is also available if required. Pension arrangements are offered via a defined contribution scheme, with employer contributions up to 17.5%.
