Independent Prep Day School • Co-Ed 3 to 11 years

For September 2022

Prince’s Mead School, established in Winchester over 70 years ago, has an excellent track record of providing a broad-ranging and family centric school experience. In recent years the Governors, Head and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) have developed a far-reaching strategy and vision for the future of Prince’s Mead. Their vision, the ‘Vision 100’ strategy, is to be a thriving and successful 21st century school: providing the highest standard of education, delivering academic rigour in an enriched environment, and empowering each child to fulfil their potential. Key to the delivery of this purpose is a strategic ambition to be recognised as a centre of excellence for teaching and pupil outcomes in academic and co-curricular activities, supported by a high performing culture across the whole school community. The successful candidate will bring their own enthusiasm, ideas and skills to complement and enhance the vision already in place.

The new Head will combine the gravitas demanded of this important position with a warmth, sense of humour and an approachability by all, and in particular the pupils. They will be committed, enthusiastic, hardworking and resilient, with a good work/life balance and interests outside the school.

Prince’s Mead is located in a glorious setting, occupying Worthy Park House – a large former residence dating back to 1820 a few miles outside the city of Winchester. With wonderful views across the Itchen Valley, the 10-acre grounds complement the house and provide a perfect setting for delivering education as well as impressive sports and other co-curricular facilities.
