We are delighted that the Governors of Latymer Upper School have appointed Susan Wijeratna to be the new Head from September 2023. The RSAcademics team who assisted the Governors at every stage of the recruitment process are confident that this is a great appointment for Latymer.

Chair of Governors Kieran Murphy said: “Su’s passion and ambition for Latymer as well as her experience, skills and educational philosophy made her stand out from a very strong field of exceptional candidates.”

Su is currently the Lower Master (Senior Deputy Head) at Eton College, the first woman to be appointed to that role in 2017. Prior to that she was Deputy Head (Pastoral) at St Paul’s Girls’ School. She is Chair of Governors at St Stephen’s CE Primary School, Hammersmith; she is also a governor, and chair of the academic committee, at the Royal Ballet School.

Su commented: “To be leading the Latymer Foundation into the next phase of its history in its 400th year and to build on the School’s ambition to be both the leading co-educational school in the UK and one of the most socially inclusive, is a great privilege and one that I am very much looking forward to.”
