Andrea Berkeley

Andrea has had a distinguished career in state education, including 14 years as Head of Preston Manor in London and six years as founding education director of Ambition Institute at ARK.
Andrea has worked at the cutting edge of education leadership reform, as senior consultant at UCL Institute of Education, the Future Leaders Trust, Tavistock Consulting and adviser to Leading Educators USA. She was a London Challenge consultant and a lead facilitator with the National College for School Leadership.
As a qualified executive coach, Andrea has supported hundreds of headteachers, chief executives and directors, combining her depth of understanding about people, interpersonal relationships and group dynamics to help clients develop the insight and confidence to maximise their potential in ways they hadn’t anticipated possible. Internationally, Andrea has provided consultancy services in Russia, Sweden, Singapore, the Middle East and extensively in the USA, where she served on the advisory board of Leading Educators.
Since joining RSAcademics, Andrea has assisted many schools with headship appointments including the London Academy of Excellence, Woodhouse College London, Dartford Grammar School, Pimlico Academy and the King Edward’s Foundation, Birmingham with headship and Chief Executive appointments.
She has written and broadcast widely, including the 2007 TV series “How the Other Half Learns”. Her book, Sustaining Depth and Meaning in School Leadership: Keeping Your Head, co-edited and authored with a child and adolescent psychotherapist, was published by Routledge in July 2020.
