Andrew Rattue

Senior Advisor

Andy is a Senior Advisor in the Appointments Team at RSAcademics. He works with schools across the UK and internationally to appoint senior leaders, offering boards clear, strategic support throughout the recruitment journey. Drawing on his leadership experience, Andy helps shape compelling briefs, engages thoughtfully with candidates, and ensures each stage of the process is both thorough and responsive to the school’s context. His calm, insightful approach enables governors to make confident decisions that align with their values and long-term vision.

Before joining RSAcademics, Andy was Principal of St Clare’s, Oxford, the longest-established IB World School in England, offering a broad range of academic programmes for teenagers and adults. Prior to this, he was Head of King’s College, Madrid, a large day and boarding school with nursery, primary, secondary and Sixth Form provision. His first headship was at RGS Worcester, where he led the transition to full co-education and a successful merger with a neighbouring girls’ school. Earlier in his career, Andy was Deputy Head at the Royal Grammar School, Guildford.

Andy has served as Chair of the Boarding Schools Association and BAISIS, and was a Boarding Team Inspector for ISI. He is currently a governor of Cumnor CE Primary School and has held governance roles in both the independent and state sectors.
