Davenies School is a thriving independent day school for 340 boys aged 4 to 13. Situated in the attractive market town of Beaconsfield, some 30 miles west of Central London, Davenies is the local prep school of choice, with pupil numbers at an all-time high.
The Governors and Headmaster are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and business-minded individual to the position of Bursar. Reporting to the Headmaster, the Bursar is a critical member of the Senior Leadership Team and plays a vital role in the School’s strategic planning. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continued success and development of this leading independent school, working as part of a successful senior leadership group and leading and developing a high-performing support team.
The Bursar is responsible for the delivery and efficiency of all support services at Davenies, as well as making a leading contribution to the School’s strategic direction and fulfilling the role of Clerk to the Governors. Areas of responsibility include finance, HR, estates, facilities, procurement, risk management and the generation of non-fee income.
The successful candidate will be an individual of proven senior leadership ability, a strategic thinker and will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, together with strong financial and commercial acumen. Existing school Bursar experience is not a pre-requisite.
