Chair of Council (Governing Body) – St Albans High School for Girls
St Albans High School for Girls (STAHS) seeks a new Chair of Council to work alongside Amber Waite, the new Head, who is a vibrant scientist and knows no bounds in terms of what she wants for her pupils.
St Albans High School for Girls (STAHS) is one of the leading day schools in the country. It combines the community spirit of a local school with the ambition and energy of a school recognised on the national stage. Educating over 1000 girls from 4 to 18 and based across two sites, pupils progress from the idyllic and rural setting of the Prep School to the city buzz of the High School, situated centrally in St Albans.
From an early age, pupils develop a passion for learning whilst having fun and progress to the Senior School where they are immersed in an intellectually exciting environment, where scholarship and creativity abound and combine with excellent pastoral care. STAHS provides all its pupils with inspiration, opportunity and adventure.
The Chair’s role is a very rewarding and interesting one, impacting on the lives and opportunities of the many young people who are pupils at the School, as well as those at partner schools. The role will appeal to those with an interest in education and an understanding of, or a readiness to learn about, school governance.
