Deputy Head Academic – Leighton Park School
Leighton Park is looking to appoint an ambitious and innovative Deputy Head Academic who will bring fresh ideas and purpose with a clear vision for delivering academic success that is sympathetic to the School’s Quaker foundation and ethos: achievement with values, character and a sense of community.
Leighton Park is an outstanding HMC independent day and boarding school for 520 boys and girls aged 11-18 where young people learn how to think, to believe in themselves and to grow within a community. Within walking distance of Reading town centre, the school is set in 65 acres of picturesque Berkshire parkland providing an atmosphere of mutual respect, where every student is given the confidence to find out who they really are and unearth their individual academic and co-curricular talents. Pupils build strong relationships with one another and those around them.
Leighton Park offers GCSEs and A-Levels as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma and is particularly well known for STEAM subjects, the creative Arts and Music. Reporting to the Head, the Deputy Head Academic will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and play a key role in the strategic and operational management of the school as a whole.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and forward-thinking individual to develop their senior leadership career at a long established day and boarding HMC school.
Interested candidates are invited to contact Michael Stephens by email or telephone, for an initial, informal discussion about the post.
