Development Director – Cokethorpe School, Witney
This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior development strategist and capital campaign specialist.
Cokethorpe is an independent day school providing education to some 660 boys and girls aged four to eighteen. Situated in beautiful parkland just ten miles outside Oxford, the School has a strong reputation for providing a rigorous, broad curriculum underpinned by a firm belief in the principles of a liberal education, and a knowledge that all pupils have the capacity for excellence if encouraged to be ambitious and take responsibility for their learning.
The School has exciting capital development plans and is looking to create a dynamic fundraising programme, most immediately to help raise funds in support of a new science centre. Thus, Cokethorpe seeks an outstanding fundraising professional to lead its development and fundraising function. This is a new position and a senior appointment; the post-holder will report to the Headmaster and be a member of the School’s Senior Management Team.
The successful candidate will create and implement development and fundraising strategy to establish a wide range of initiatives including fundraising from major gifts, regular giving and legacies. He/she will also lead the School’s Alumni Relations activities for The Cokethorpe Society, the alumni association for Old Cokethorpians, supported by the Alumni Officer.
The importance of the post is recognised with a salary commensurate with experience and towards the top end of industry norm.
