Director of Development and Alumni Relations – Alleyn’s School

Dulwich

THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS HAS NOW PASSED.

Alleyn’s is a vibrant co-educational independent day school with around 1,300 pupils aged 4-18. Set in the heart of Dulwich, and part of the Alleyn’s Foundation, close to the centre of London.

Alleyn’s is one of the most successful co-educational schools in the country, delivering academic and co-curricular excellence in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. The School traces its roots back to Edward Alleyn’s College of God’s Gift which was founded in 1619. It was one of the first independent schools to go fully co-educational in 1976.

The School seeks an outstanding, and sector leading, Director of Development and Alumni Relations who can help Alleyn’s become one of the UK’s most successful fundraising schools.  This is a senior appointment; the post-holder will report to the Head and be a member of the School’s Senior Management Team.

The successful candidate will build upon previous fundraising successes, and set strategy to take development, and major gifts fundraising, to the next level.   They will lead the Development and Alumni Relations team in all aspects of fundraising and alumni relations.  Most recently, the School’s strong community of supporters – alumni, parents and staff – came together to celebrate the School’s 400th Anniversary.  Launched in 2019, the Growing Bursaries for the Future anniversary campaign looks to create a step-change of support for means-tested bursaries.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior development strategist and major gifts specialist.  The importance of the post will be recognised with a salary commensurate with experience and at the top end of industry norm.

Interested candidates are invited to contact RSAcademics to arrange a confidential discussion with Peter Lockhart (Search Consultant, RSAcademics) in the first instance, or Debra Price (Head of Philanthropy, RSAcademics).
