Director of Admissions and External Relations – Marlborough College Malaysia

Malaysia

THE CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS HAS NOW PASSED

Marlborough College Malaysia is unique. It continues the pioneering spirit of its mother School, Marlborough College in Wiltshire, by being a close, values-led and enormously successful and happy community. The College is looking to appoint a Director of Admissions and External Relations, who will lead the development of the College's external relations strategy.

Start: January 2020 or sooner

The College

Marlborough College Malaysia opened in 2012 and is a British day and boarding school for pupils aged 3-18 years. The school is situated in 90 acres in the Iskandar region of Malaysia, close to Singapore and Johor Bahru. The School is a member of HMC and is a genuine expansion of Marlborough College in the UK, managed and governed by a number of people who have a strong association with Marlborough.

The Role

MCM has a unique story to tell and, with the Master, the post-holder will be at the forefront of explaining this to prospective parents and applicants. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Admissions and External Relations will lead the development of the College’s External Relations Strategy.  The successful candidate will drive enrolment and provide strategic leadership across admissions, marketing, communications, alumni and parent relations.

The successful candidate will have the skills, personality, presence and judgement required to represent Marlborough College Malaysia. The post will most likely be suited to an experienced professional from an independent or international school with a deep understanding of admissions and managing external relations and an appreciation of how these functions are evolving in an international school context. He or she will show tenacity and drive, cross-cultural awareness and an international perspective, as well as expertise, intelligence and an understanding of the distinctive features of a British education. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious colleague to lead the admissions and external relations functions within one of Asia’s most highly-regarded international schools.

Employment Package

As well as working in a beautiful and collegial environment, the College offers an attractive package which includes generous remuneration accommodation and relocation assistance, private medical insurance, meals during term time, school fee remission and a bonus in lieu of pension.
