Director of Admissions – Stonyhurst College

The Director of Admissions will play a pivotal strategic role in helping the College to achieve its ambitions for the future.

Start date: September 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter

Salary: in the region of £70,000 pa + generous benefits package

Stonyhurst College is the UK’s leading co-educational Catholic boarding and day school.  Stonyhurst, together with its preparatory school Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall, educates 3 – 18 year olds, with boarding from 7 years. The school is currently celebrating its 425th anniversary, as well as the 20th anniversary of full co-education. The Director of Admissions will play a pivotal strategic role in helping the College to achieve its ambitions for the future. The role focuses exclusively on pupil recruitment. The postholder will take strategic responsibility for attracting and enrolling pupils of all ages into Stonyhurst, locally, nationally and internationally, building relationships with feeder schools, with prospective families and with their agents and promoting the benefits of belonging to a modern, boarding community in a stunning setting.  Boarding is central to the mission and identity of Stonyhurst.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in school admissions, ideally gained in a leading, recruiting independent school and will be a persuasive advocate for the benefits of independent education in general and of boarding in particular.  They will be able to convey Stonyhurst’s distinctive ethos with enthusiasm and conviction.
