Applications are invited for the post of Director of Marketing and Communications at Shrewsbury School with effect from September 2019 (or by mutual agreement as soon as possible thereafter).
Founded by Royal Charter in 1552, Shrewsbury is a leading HMC co-educational boarding school with a reputation for excellence. This newly created role comes at an exciting time in the long history of the School, which is in a strong position within the competitive market of premium co-educational independent boarding and day schools.
Reporting directly to the Headmaster – and working closely with the Senior Master (Director of Admissions) – this is a pivotal strategic, senior leadership role. The Director of Marketing and Communications will provide dynamic and creative strategic leadership for marketing and external communications, in order to enhance the brand perception of Shrewsbury School and further its regional, national and global profile, together with its pupil recruitment reach.
This exciting leadership position will be most likely suited to an experienced and innovative professional from within the independent boarding schools’ sector with a proven track record within a marketing, communications or external relations related context. Alternatively, the role might suit an exceptional individual with similar commercial marketing experience gained outside the sector but who has an instinctive feel for the for the independent boarding market, combined with the relevant transferable skills to undertake this complex and fulfilling job.
