Applications are invited for the post of Director of Operations at the Mill Hill School Foundation.
Situated in 160 acres of magnificent parkland in North London, The Mill Hill School Foundation is a successful family of four leading co-educational schools providing an outstanding educational experience for pupils aged 3-18. Mill Hill School, the Senior School, is one of London’s leading co-educational day and boarding schools; Grimsdell Mill Hill Pre-Preparatory School is a day school for pupils aged 3 to 7; Belmont Mill Hill Preparatory School is a day school for pupils aged 7 to 13 and The Mount, Mill Hill International is a co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 13 to 17 from non-English speaking backgrounds.
The Mill Hill School Foundation now seeks to appoint a dynamic, committed and forward-thinking Director of Operations. This is an exciting time of development for the Foundation with the recent appointment of the Chief Executive Officer, Antony Spencer. In recent years there has been a period of sustained growth, resulting in around 1600 pupils, and approximately £35m of annual fee income.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Operations will lead and manage a diverse support staff with oversight of Facilities, Grounds, Catering, Maintenance and Housekeeping. The buildings of the Foundation are impressive in their scale and diversity and there are many opportunities to develop additional facilities as the Foundation grows. The overall aim of the Foundation is clear in its ambition, to have the best overall physical environment of any school in London. The Director of Operations role is therefore one of considerable importance and prominence in the organisation
The successful applicant will be an individual of proven leadership ability with strong project management, planning and development experience. S/he will work closely with the CEO and Director of Finance and Resources on the strategy for the development of the physical assets of the Foundation. S/he will be highly motivated, organised and will possess good financial awareness and business acumen.
Prior experience of working in a school is not required but a genuine interest in education and sympathy with the educational ethos of The Mill Hill School Foundation is essential.

The post is available from April 2020, but the actual start date is flexible for the successful candidate.
