Founding Head – K-12 School, New first-tier city, Eastern China

A leading HMC school and their local partners, seek to appoint a Founding Head for a new K-12 school in one of China’s most dynamic cities.

Start date: August 2020

Size: 2,400 pupils (when full)

The successful candidate will develop and bring into reality a compelling vision for a bilingual school for pupils aged 2 to 18 that will blend an exceptional British approach to education with the requirements of the Chinese National Curriculum. Working closely with the investors, and with the support of the UK school, the Founding Head will lead a school that secures academic excellence and encourages intellectual enquiry within a holistic, caring and internationally-minded learning community of boarders and day pupils.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader, preferably with a proven track record gained from working in both the UK and China.  You will have the desire to work as part of a team and will possess adaptability and resilience, intellect and conviction, cultural sensitivity and an international perspective. You will have creativity, determination and entrepreneurial spirit.

 The closing date for applications is 20th May 2019 at 10.00 am (BST) and preliminary interviews will follow shortly after.

Longlist interviews will take place in early June and Final panel interviews will take place in the UK at the end of June.
