Governor (Academic Committee) – North London Collegiate School, Middlesex
The Chair of Governors and Governing Body of North London Collegiate School seeks a new Governor to join their Academic Committee. NLCS is the oldest academic girls’ school in the country, educating approximately 1100 girls aged 4-18, set in 30 acres of leafy parkland next to Canon’s Park in Edgware. This Governor will have a focus on the Senior school, so experience should be commensurate to the role.
This is an exciting time to take on a strategic role, with the opportunity to work collaboratively with an exceptional Governing Body, a recently appointed Head of the Senior School and a dynamic new Chair of Governors.
The Governors are seeking a candidate with the right blend of educational experience, ideally in independent school leadership, authority and expertise to guide the Academic development of the Senior part of the school, alongside the Head and current Chair of the Academic Committee, in line with NLCS’s mission: ‘To provide an ambitious academic education to enable every individual student to make the most of her intellect and abilities’.
Governors are expected to attend both full board and separate committee meetings each term, and there are a number of other ‘touchpoints’ throughout the year.
Interested candidates are invited to contact Angela Short, Search Consultant at RSAcademics, for a confidential discussion:

Those whose interest is taken further will be invited initially to meet with Charlotte Faber, Senior Advisor for this position, and then with a small committee of current NLCS governors, led by the Chair, Robert Hingley.
All this will be handled in confidence.
North London Collegiate School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be asked to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service for an Enhanced Disclosure.
