Head – Alderley Edge School for Girls
Following the appointment of Helen Jeys to the headship of Manchester High after four years of outstanding service, the Governors are seeking a new leader at Alderley Edge School for Girls, from September 2020.
Set in the delightful village of Alderley Edge, the School is the result of the merger of two leading Christian girls’ schools in 1999. The School now educates about 500 girls aged from 2 to 18.
The School combines exceptional pastoral care with excellent examination results reflecting strong value-added scores. There has also been significant investment in facilities over the last three years. Alderley Edge School for Girls appeals to families who are seeking an education that looks beyond the academic curriculum. The School encourages a love of learning and a virtue-based education that ensures Alderley Edge girls will be valued and valuable members of society. Girls come to the School from Cheshire, Trafford and Manchester and flourish in a nurturing atmosphere where everyone is respected, known as an individual and encouraged to be the best she can be.
The successful applicant will be a high achieving and experienced leader who is committed to single-sex education, raising girls’ aspirations and equipping them to flourish beyond the School gates.
