For January 2021

Banstead School is part of United Learning, a successful national group of academies and independent schools. Our schools share a mission to bring out ‘the best in everyone’ and to improve the life chances of the children and young people in their care. Our cluster model enables high quality, bespoke school improvement and wider opportunities for both staff and students to work collaboratively.

Formed in 2017, Banstead School is a co-educational, IAPS day school and nursery, with around 250 children on roll, aged 2-11. We are ambitious for the School as it builds on its strengths in line with our Framework for Excellence: promoting the best in everyone; powerful knowledge; education with character; leadership in every role; and continuous improvement.

Set on the outskirts of the village of Banstead, Surrey, there are good transport links to London and the South East. Banstead School sits on the site of the former Greenacre School, and as such, benefits from the facilities befitting a former Senior School, such as its own astro turf, a superb gym, and a new sports pavilion.

The School offers a broad curriculum, a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, including sport, music and drama, high academic standards and a warm, nurturing environment where every child is known and cared about. State-of-the-art facilities enable the School to offer the broadest range of opportunities as part of an engaging, innovative and exciting curriculum, helping to set the highest possible ambition for every child, and get the best from everyone. It promotes the key values of respect, tolerance and diversity, essential to ensuring that young people can thrive and have high aspirations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a leader looking to combine the autonomy of running their own school with the benefit of working within a successful cluster and as part of a national group. United Learning prioritises collaboration, values shared practice and provides high-quality professional development.

As headteacher, you will demonstrate a clear commitment to the School and its community. You will model outstanding leadership and set high expectations for students and staff. Your professionalism, expertise and enthusiasm for education will be evident each and every day, in all that you do.

If you are looking for an exciting, challenging and highly rewarding role within a Group that offers a strong commitment to professional development, and if you have an unshakeable commitment to improving the lives of young people, we encourage you to apply.
