Head of Lower School – Mayfield School
Mayfield is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic individual with management and boarding experience to join a forward-thinking SMT in one of England’s leading Catholic Schools. Taking a leading role in the strategic planning of the School, she or he will be responsible for leading the Lower School (Years 7 & 8).

Mayfield is situated in the East Sussex countryside outside Royal Tunbridge Wells, less than 50 miles from London and 40 minutes from Gatwick. The School has a tradition of academic achievement with impressive GCSE and A Level results, a vibrant and eclectic co-curricular provision and an enviable reputation for pastoral care. All staff are expected to contribute to the extra-curricular programme. Accommodation may be available.
The ideal candidate would be an outstanding teacher, with some management experience and a commitment to the education of girls and the Catholic ethos of the School. She or he will work closely with the Headmistress and senior colleagues to realise the strategic vision of the School, including overseeing the balance between its impressive academic provision and the wider pastoral and co-curricular life of the School. The successful candidate will be expected to be involved in all aspects of Mayfield life, including teaching a reduced academic timetable. (Most curriculum subjects will be considered.)
