Headmaster of Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, India (for November 2019 or asap thereafter)
Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India
THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS HAS NOW PASSED
RSAcademics Ltd are delighted to be working with the Board of Governors of Bishop Cotton School as they search for a Headmaster to succeed Mr RC Robinson, who retires after 15 years’ loyal service. Applications for the position are invited now for November 2019 or January 2020.
Bishop Cotton School is one of the oldest boys’ boarding schools in India, and is a leading, academically selective school. Occupying a 56 acre campus in the foothills of the Himalayas in the historic state capital, BCS educates boys aged 5–18 years old, who come from all regions of India and beyond. The school was founded on a traditional British public school model and has developed many of the best features, such as full boarding, a House system, pastoral care, team and individual sports and many other wide-ranging extra-curricular opportunities. BCS is immensely proud of its continuing close links with Marlborough College that were first established by its founding Headmaster, Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton.
The Governors view this appointment as the moment at which to refine and re-define the school, so that boys’ aspirations are increasingly international, enabling them to compete as leaders of their generation not only with the best in India, but also across the world.
The successful candidate, therefore, will be a person who can inspire boys and young men by intellect, by adaptability, by self-discipline and by self-confidence; who can work with a committed and forward-looking Board of Governors; who can articulate a vision and lead a school through significant change; who is diplomatic, energetic and passionate about all aspects of boys’ education.
Interested candidates are invited to contact Jean Sullivan, by email or telephone, for an initial discussion or to arrange a confidential discussion with Aaron Ashton or Mike Weston.
