Andrea Berkeley

Andrea is a Senior Advisor in the Appointments team at RSAcademics, supporting schools with the recruitment of Heads and Chief Executives across the state and independent sectors. 

She brings extensive leadership experience, having served as Head of Preston Manor in London for 14 years and as founding Education Director of Ambition Institute at ARK. Since joining RSAcademics, Andrea has led headship appointments for a huge range of schools, delivering successful outcomes resulting in first-rate leadership. She is frequently then asked to mentor the appointee.   

Andrea has worked at the forefront of education reform, as a Senior Consultant, Coach and Facilitator at UCL Institute of Education, the Future Leaders Trust, Tavistock Consulting and Leading Educators USA. She was a London Challenge consultant and a lead facilitator with the National College for School Leadership. 

As a qualified executive coach, Andrea has supported hundreds of senior leaders, helping them develop insight, confidence and impact. Her consultancy work has taken her across the UK and internationally, including Russia, Sweden, Singapore, Bangkok and the USA. 

She is also a published author and broadcaster, with her book Sustaining Depth and Meaning in School Leadership released by Routledge in 2020. Andrea brings clarity, depth and strategic insight to every appointment process.
