Andrew Nott

Andrew is a Senior Advisor in the Appointments Team at RSAcademics. He brings a deep understanding of best practice in school leadership and has supported many schools with headship recruitment, strategic planning and leadership development. Widely respected across the independent sector, Andrew is known for his thoughtful approach and extensive network in the UK and internationally. He works closely with boards to shape leadership briefs, assess candidates with care and rigour, and guide confident, context-aware decision-making. 

Before joining RSAcademics, Andrew was Head of Davenies and later St Hugh’s, Oxfordshire, leading both schools through significant growth and development. His success in these roles earned national recognition and positioned him as one of the UK’s leading prep school heads. 

Following his headships, Andrew served as Chair of IAPS, where he led major improvements to member services and engaged with schools across the USA, Europe and the UAE. He is an ISI inspector with over 20 years’ experience and a governor of HMC, IAPS and ISA schools. A qualified executive coach, appraiser and mediator, Andrew regularly speaks at conferences and training events for school leaders and governors.
