Marco Macchitella

Marco is an education professional with over 35 years’ experience in the school and post-compulsory sector as a teacher, trainer, consultant, inspector, governor and senior leader. With a keen interest in educational leadership and a passion for quality in education, Marco believes that educational institutions have a duty to provide an outstanding experience to all students, at all times, whatever their background or their reason for learning.

Marco started his career as a language teacher and later as a teacher trainer. In the last 25 years he has held several leadership positions in a variety of institutions, including Deputy CEO at a large London College, as well as a 10-year spell as an Ofsted inspector.  In addition, Marco has many years’ experience in college governance as a staff, parent, and independent governor and is currently Chair of Governors of a highly successful 6^th Form College in north London.

In 2023 Marco decided he wanted to pursue a freelance career as an education consultant and has joined RSAcademics as a Senior Advisor and Search Consultant.  

Marco holds a degree in Modern Foreign Languages, a PGCE, an MBA and is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute. He also qualified as a coach in 2007, completing a Coaching Skills for Managers course with the Centre for Excellence in Leadership and has regularly supported managers in education throughout his career.
