Senior Advisor

Sarah is a Senior Advisor in the Appointments team at RSAcademics, supporting schools with the recruitment of Heads and Chief Executives across the independent and state sectors. One of our most experienced Senior Advisors, Sarah has over a decade of experience in headship recruitment and coaching with RSAcademics, alongside a distinguished leadership career. 

Sarah was formerly Principal of King Edward VI High School for Girls in Birmingham and Friends’ School, Saffron Walden, and Acting Principal at Elmhurst School for Dance. Her leadership has focused on growth, community engagement and managing change. 

She chaired the Independent Schools Teacher Induction Panel (IStip) and chaired the National Teacher Accreditation (NTA) panel. Sarah is also a Governor of an independent school and chairs a Multi-Academy Trust. 

Her consultancy work includes governance reviews, senior leadership team evaluations and headteacher appraisals. A trained Level 7 coach, she has supported many senior leaders.  She was awarded an OBE for Services to Education in the 2014 Honours List. 

Sarah’s guidance on projects is frequently sought by clients. Her ability to differentiate between the very strongest of candidates and advise her clients, with humour and a gentle but firm steer, leads to outstandingly successful appointments. She frequently mentors new heads.
